What to Expect from Your First House Cleaning in Cincinnati

From the moment you book to the moment you walk back in the door, here's how a first clean actually goes.

A woman in her thirties setting down her keys and tote bag on a marble kitchen island as she walks into her freshly cleaned home in suburban Cincinnati, late afternoon sun across light oak floors, a tidy open-plan living room with a cream sofa behind her, fresh tulips in a glass vase on the counter.

Booking a cleaning service for the first time comes with a mix of feelings. Relief that you finally did it. A little uncertainty about what happens next. Maybe some wondering about what the team will think of your house.

All of that is completely normal. Here’s a clear picture of what the process actually looks like, from the moment you book to the moment you come home.

Before the cleaning: what you need to do (very little)

You don’t need to clean before the cleaners arrive. That’s their job. What does help is a light tidy beforehand: picking up clothes off the floor, clearing counters of dishes, and making sure the team can reach the surfaces they need to clean.

Think of it this way: if the kitchen counter is covered in appliances and mail, the cleaners will work around them. If it’s clear, they’ll clean it properly. A quick 10-minute pass before they arrive noticeably improves your results. For more, see how to prepare for a cleaning service.

It also helps to decide which areas matter most to you and let us know. If you want extra attention on the primary bathroom or the kitchen, tell us. No one knows your home’s priorities better than you do.

Your first visit sets the baseline

Before a home can be maintained on a regular schedule, it needs to reach a consistent starting point. If your home hasn’t been professionally cleaned recently, your first visit includes our first-time clean: extra detail work that makes every future visit run smoothly.

It covers the areas routine cleaning doesn’t get to week to week, like baseboards, windowsills, door frames, grout lines in bathrooms and ceiling fans. Inside the oven, inside the fridge and inside cabinets are add-ons you can choose when you book. This is our First Time Clean, what many companies call a deep clean.

You don’t need to be home for any of it.

What your first clean costs

A one-time standard clean for a home with one bathroom, under 1,500 sq ft, is priced by bedrooms, before tax:

BedroomsStandard cleanFirst-time clean adds
1$155$100
2$185$100
3$220$150
4$270$150
5$295$200
6$320$250

Each extra bathroom is $20, and larger homes add a square-footage charge. For example, a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home of 1,500 to 1,999 sq ft is $265 per visit. With the first-time clean, the first visit is $415. If you then continue every two weeks, each visit from the second one on is $225.25, all before the 7.8% sales tax. The full price is shown online before you book; see pricing for every option.

During the cleaning: what the team is doing

Our background-checked cleaners work through your home systematically. They bring their own supplies and equipment, so you don’t need to provide anything.

They follow a consistent process: top to bottom, room to room. Dusting before vacuuming. Bathrooms and kitchen done thoroughly. Every surface that’s accessible and clear gets attention.

If something unexpected comes up, like a fixture that needs special care or a question about an item, the team will reach out. Otherwise, they handle it and you come home to the result.

After the cleaning: what you should see

A properly done first clean should be obvious. Bathrooms should feel sanitized, not just wiped down. Kitchen surfaces should be clean to the edges. Floors should be free of the fine dust and debris that builds up in corners.

If anything isn’t right, tell us. Our 24-hour re-clean guarantee means that if you let us know within 24 hours, we’ll come back and fix it at no charge.

What comes next

After your first visit, you decide what schedule works for your household: weekly, every two weeks or every four weeks. Recurring visits are discounted from the second visit on (20%, 15% and 10% respectively), and there’s no long-term contract. If you need to cancel or reschedule a visit, give us 48 hours’ notice; shorter notice may carry a fee. See how often you should schedule professional cleaning if you’re not sure which to pick.

Many households choose every two weeks after the first clean. It keeps the home at a consistent level without waiting long enough for things to fall behind again. For busy families with kids and pets, that’s what makes the biggest difference: you stop spending weekends cleaning and come home on Friday to a house that’s already done.

Loveland Cleaning serves 33 areas across Greater Cincinnati, including Mason, West Chester, Hyde Park, Oakley, Anderson Township, Madeira, Indian Hill and Blue Ash.
